“Nokia’s goal is to support environment-friendly lifestyle by offering consumers the opportunity to deliver any brand of the old and obsolete cell phones easily at the nearest Nokia Care center for recycling. Various studies indicate that unused equipment can be found in many consumer desk drawers. While such phones may seem worthless, the material can be reused to make new products. Everything in a Nokia phone can be recycled so that nothing is wasted and nothing goes to a landfill.  If every Nokia user recycled just one unused phone at the end of its life, together we would save nearly 125,000 tonnes of raw materials” said Adeel Hashmi, Country Communications Manager, Nokia Pakistan and Afghanistan.

“To promote recycling as a common practice, it is important to know what mobile phone recycling means and how easy it is to recycle.  We want to help overcome some of the barriers to recycling phones, like worrying about losing the numbers or photos you’ve got stored on your phone. Nearly half of these are sitting unused in people’s drawers.
