New Google Page Speed Online Tool Tells You How to Make Your Site Faster |

In a continued attempt to make the web faster, Google has launched a new online tool called Page Speed Online which analyzes the performance of any web page and gives specific suggestions for making them faster.
The tool can be run through any browser and will be a very handy tool for website owners who can improve the performance of their web pages with suggestions provided by Google.
Google has kept the working of this page very simple
- Type in your web page address on http://pagespeed.googlelabs.com
- Google will show what rules the website is currently following and will score the site out of 100.
- In addition to this Google will also give suggestions on how you could improve your website’s speed. To make it simpler for webmasters the suggestions are categorized and ranked as High, Medium or Low which in a way tell you how much work you need to do on your site to improve its performance.
Here is how the results appear for the Wall Street Journal’s home page.
Page Speed Online has also been made available for mobile websites as Google realizes that mobile device CPUs have their own limitations as compared to the powerful desktop CPUs.
So now website owners can significantly benefit from the suggestions of page speed online to prominently reduce their mobile CPU consumption. This includes reducing the amount of JavaScript parsed during the page load and making a landing page redirect cacheable.
The simplistic approach to Page Speed Online has already made it an instant hit amongst website owners who are getting an easy and quality analysis of their website performance and are optimizing their websites accordingly for their mobile customers, specifically Smartphone users. On the user end you will not have to go through the frustration of waiting for ever for a site to load.
